About the Driftwoods series:
Small wooden trunks and branches that reach the sea and, after drifting, reach the surf. This is the starting point for the fusion of this material with ceramic objects experimented in the Driftwood series. In this collection, Gabriela proposes interventions that reimagine doll shapes into imaginary beings.
Here, inspired by Shintoism and koguei art, the artist rehearses her first driftwoods collection, paying homage to Japanese culture, highlighting the appreciation of shadow, the elements of nature and the delicacy poetized by candlelight.
